AO Youth League Board Meeting Summary

Meeting Highlights:

CIYC Recap:
Hayley reviewed key takeaways from the CIYC (Central Illinois Youth Conference) meeting. The group discussed the requirement for all fields to have a pitching mound in place by the 2027 season.

Baseball/Softball Update:
The season went smoothly with no major issues reported.
Suggestions for next season were noted, especially for younger age groups:

Avoid double headers

Eliminate Saturday games

Concessions Discussion:
The board discussed implementing a policy where parents either work concessions or pay a fee to opt out.
There was concern that the league may only break even on concession revenue.

Diamond Projects:
Megan F. will lead efforts to update the Middle Diamond. Argenta in Motion may assist with funding.

It was suggested that we put out a request for anyone in the community who may be willing to contribute materials or skills to help add shelter or shade to the middle diamond dugouts.

The board also discussed the need to continue seeking quotes for improvements to the West bathrooms. Only one quote has been received so far; at least three are needed.

Volleyball:
Cortney T. will take the lead on organizing and managing volleyball activities.

Co-Ed Basketball (Kâ2):
Cora will organize a basketball camp and scrimmage series for Kindergarten through 2nd grade.

Basketball Season:
Registration for the upcoming season will be announced within the week.

Fee: $80 per player

Door Admission: $1 per person; free for senior citizens

Girls Season: Early September through mid-December

Boys Season: November through January/February

Current bank account balance is $43,118.
