Board Meeting Minutes

Girls Basketball:

  • Practices are going well; some scheduling and logistics still need to be discussed.

  • Game Operations:
    Volunteers are needed for ticket sales and concessions, beginning 30 minutes before game time.

    • Entry Fee: $1 for school-age children and adults

    • Free Admission: Coaches, players, and senior citizens

    • Ticket sales will end halfway through the 3rd quarter of the second game.

  • Volunteer Schedule:

    • 11/1 – Audria

    • 11/8 – Danita

    • 11/15 – TBD

    • 11/16 – Matt and Cora

    • 11/22 – TBD

    • 11/23 – Matt and Cora

    • 12/7 – Chelsea Sisson

  • Concessions Storage:
    Cora will speak with Mr. Williams about storing concession supplies in the middle school Bomber Gym closet.


Basketball Camp (K–2):

  • Equipment needs were discussed.

  • Cora and Matt will visit Play It Again Sports to look for equipment.

  • AOYL will offer five scholarships/fee waivers, awarded to the first families who email.


Basketball Pictures:

  • Chelsea will review the November schedule to coordinate picture dates. 

  • Rates are expected to increase in 2026.

  • The board discussed whether rates can be locked in across all sports.

  • The baseball contract has expired and will need to be revisited.


Marketing & Awareness:

  • Digital Billboard:
    Argenta in Motion digital billboard will be used to promote boys basketball registration.
    Chelsea Sisson will take the lead.


Diamond & Field Projects:

  • Middle Diamond:
    Jennifer will follow up with Megan F. regarding collaboration with Argenta in Motion and how participation numbers could support funding.

  • West Diamond:
    Mustang and Bronco boys divisions will require pitching mounds by the 2027 season.

    • Courtney will research permanent vs. portable mound options.

    • Audria will look into dirt and overlay needs for leveling and buildup.

    • Pony and Hawks divisions will not use the West Diamond due to base distance requirements.


Fundraising:

  • Del’s Fundraiser:

    • 50% fundraiser, approximately three weeks in duration

    • Tentative pickup date: October 9

    • Pickup location: Oreana Firehouse (to be confirmed)

    • Chelsea will gather additional details and send recommendations on timing.

  • Krispy Kreme Fundraiser:
    To be scheduled later, potentially during baseball season.

  • Spring Fundraiser:
    Mother’s Day basket fundraiser discussed.
